Beware of Urantia Scams by Joy Brandt I just wanted to warn you about a scam phone call I received a few minutes ago where a guy claimed to be a Urantia Book reader and, after giving me a long, sad story, essentially asked me for financial help without ever quite "asking." Here's how it went. Normally I don't answer calls from numbers that my phone doesn't recognize, but I did today because I'm expecting a call from a medical provider. This guy who gave me the name "Wayne Johnson" told me he was a Urantia Book reader and needed to talk to another Urantia Book reader because of the terrible things he has gone through, emotionally, in the last couple of days. I asked him where he got my phone number and he said online. (My phone number is listed as a contact on the Urantia study group directory.) His story was long and involved. He claimed he had cancer.....

Consider the Zebedees
by Cheryl Phillips
I love the story of the Zebedees and their relationship with Jesus. There is so much rich information in the Urantia book that enhances our knowledge of this family. There is really more about this family than even Lazarus, who was also a great friend to Jesus. Their relationship through the years is a really special one.
It starts with Zebedee himself, the father of John, James, and David.
I came across a text I had not noticed before. The text was “he stopped to pay a visit to his father’s friend Zebedee.” (129:1.2 [1419.5]) It doesn’t say how long they had all known each other. Joseph died when Jesus was age fourteen, so they must have come in contact with each other at some point. Joseph and Zebedee were both tradesmen, so they had that in common. They probably met in Jerusalem during Passover and other festivals. The text only said they were friends. We really don’t know if both families associated with each other fully, but from the texts and things that happened, the rest of Jesus’ family must have known of the Zebedee family. After all, he built boats in the area. From what we read in “Paper 127: The Adolescent Years,” Jesus certainly knew him at least.
Back when Jesus was in his twentieth year.....
